I used Happy Hauntings for the shoe and of course I can't remember the carts I used for the other cards, lol. I really need to write down the carts as I use them. I also embossed the leaf on the thanksgiving card.
This one I struggled with and did last. My sisters client wanted modern with orange, lemon, and bright pink. So after lots of internet searching this is what I came up with. I had finally found the right paper but the theme just wasn't easy. Modern can mean so many things. I made a rosette with my MS score board and the banner cut on the lid is from Straight From The Nest. All of the loopy cuts are from Ribbons and Rosettes. I used R&R for most of the cuts in this box. I didn't make any rosettes with it because I don't like how they are cut and pieced together but there are lots of other cuts that are interesting.
The colors are lavender and cream. I embossed the cream on the bottom of the box. On the lid I used a burlap ribbon from Stamping Up with a satin ribbon from Joanns around the edge. Neither of these would adhere well to the lid so I used brads to help. I used A Childs Year for the tea-pot cut and the butterflies were cut from another cartridge. I sewed around the edge then used some thin wire to glue the butterflies to so they would sit above the lid. At the bottom of the box you can untie the ribbon and it opens up and there is a cricut cut that says "family".
This is my favorite. I used the Storybook for the scroll cut on the outside. On the lid I used Heritage for the die cuts, the roses were from Artiste. I used a Martha Stewart punch on the top of the lid and around the outside. Inside are various Cricut cuts, places for pictures and journaling.
A few months ago I made my first exploding box, I made it for my sister of our trip to England. A client of hers saw it and asked if I could make her 4 boxes for her and her sisters. They each had specific themes and colors which was a struggle for me. I like to just get in my craftroom and create something. 3 of the boxes were vintage which I loved and the last was "modern". Vintage was easy, modern not so much. It can mean so many different things. I am going to post the pics of each in separate posts, here's the first.
Its vintage with rose/cream colors. I used my Anna Griffin basket weave embossing folder for the outside. The roses are done using Artiste. I used various carts for all the boxes: Heritage, Storybook, Elegant Edges, and a few others I can't remember.
I scraplifted this card from Pinterest, I don't know whos card it is but thank you for the idea. I used the Walk in my Garden Cricut cartridge for all the cuts and sewed around the edge of the card. I liked how this card came together and that all the cuts came from the same cartridge.
I found this small notebook that will be perfect, its small and has pockets on the inside. I love the cover but wanted something that had a travel theme. I found some paper with suitcases and I used my Wall Decor cartridge to cut the compass for the front. I added some doodling because the orange paper needed a little something extra.
Its been a long time since my last post, almost a year I think.
I finally got back in my craftroom and did some organizing and decided to open my new Cricut E2 that I got at Thanksgiving. I know, I should have opened it and tested it out months ago but I was intimidated by the thought of trying it out. Ive heard so many negatives about it and wasnt sure if I was up to messing with it. (But I did buy the darn thing so I need to turn it on!) My crafting buddies Brenda and Vickie told me it was a learning curve and boy is it. I got it all set up, turned it on, and my fears were layed to rest. Yes, there is a bit of reading and figuring out but it went smoothly. There are some things I would definitely like to change about my E2 that would make it more user friendly but I just need to stick with it.
I made a simple card using the images that are preloaded in the machine. I also used vellum flowers that my friend Vickie gave me.
Life has been getting in the way or I'm just lazy, I can't decide which. Probably the latter, oh well. I have been crafting off and on so I do have a project to post. I have been busy making cards for my sisters and a folder to keep them in. The cards are just a variety for them to have on hand and the folder I made from some 12 x 24 paper.
The cuts are very pretty so I cut 2 different images as an experiement to see what they looked like and decided to use them. I made 2 cards, each a little different. Sometimes (most times) I tend to cut the main images from a cricut cart and forget to look at the other features and the images there.
The Green Blend Award is given to a co-blogging friend who encourages you, comments, and cheers you on. In the crafting world that is very important. I am so thankful to have Brenda as my crafting buddy and co-blogger. She and the rest of the ladies from the Cricut Friends Crafting Challenge have encouraged me from the very start. My humble little blog wouldn't be what it is without them. Thank you Brenda for thinking of me.
I thought I would post a pic of a storage idea I found on pinterest (I'm addicted). You can get this storage bin at Harbor Freight. I used a coupon so it was about $16 with tax. I loved how much space it freed up on my crafting table after I filled it up. And there is still room for more stuff in it. I just need to figure out how to decorate it, its not very pretty.
Hi, my name is Terri. I want to thank you for joining us today. This is my very first blog hop and I am glad to be taking part in Suzannes blogaversary. For the hop today, I've created 2 birthday cards using DoodleCharms. I cut the cupcake at 6 inches and trimmed off the candle. The present is cut at 4 1/4 inches. Each card has a pocket so I can put a gift card in it. I also embossed the frosting and the bow with my cuttlebug.
I have corrected the post. Sorry for any confusion. Mickey & Friends also has a swirl.

I love all the rolled flower projects I have been seeing, though I don't think I would attempt one of the beautiful wreaths my friend Suzanne makes. I wanted to try some for a project and I thought using them on the wall hangings for my craft room would be perfect. I don't have Flower Shoppe or Art Philosophy that will cut the spirals for you and doing them by hand is not fun (I've tried them and my spiral was wonky). Stamping Solutions cart has a spiral cut on it so I tried that and they came out perfect for what I was using them for. I cut the spiral at 3 1/2 inches, rolled (there are a lot of great tutorials on rolling the flowers on youtube), then used my glue gun to adhere it to the project.
I used some artist canvas I got at Michaels, they come in sets and different sizes. I glued the scrapbook paper to the canvas using my ATG gun not Mod Pog. MP can bubble and warp the thin canvas board. I used vinyl for the letters. I also used several different carts for the cuts. Plantin School Book for the vinyl letters, Indie Art for the butterfly border, flower scroll and the rolled flowers, and Paisley for the paisley.
I thought I would post how I clean mine because I love crafty tips so I will pass this one along. I learned about this product awhile ago and even posted on my old blog about it. It is called Pure Citrus and you can find it at Lowes or Home Depot. Its great for taking off sticky price tags. I started using it to clean my cricut mats also. I lay the mat on a towel in a well ventilated area and spray the mat. It has the most yummy orange smell but can be overpowering. I then use a scraper to get all the gunk and bits of paper off. It comes off so easy, no scrubbing at all. After scraping all the gunk off I wash the mat off in warm sudsy water. Sometimes there is a sticky residue left around the edges so I just spritz again and clean them off. After the mats are dry I cover the edges with low tack tape and spray them with Krylon Easy Tack to reglue them. They are like new.
I love this cart, there are so many cuts on it. Images and words, and a blackout and shadow feature which just adds to the different ways it can be used. The butterfly and the scallop circle is done using both of these. The circle is actually a frame when not using the other features.
I found this idea on Pinterest for keeping track of your folders. Its an easy way to keep them on hand and to take them with you when you are going to buy new ones. I can never remember what I have and don't have. I also like having the tags so I can see what the embossing actually looks like on paper. I used Plantin School Book to make the tags. I am going to laminte them so they will last longer. Thank you Brenda for the idea.
Yesterday was the first time I have felt like getting into my craft room, I almost forgot what it looked like. Between babysitting my grandsons and the busyness of the holidays my crafty mojo disappeared. I did get some new Cricut carts for Christmas and birthday presents and now I can't wait to start using them. I made a couple of thankyou cards with one of the new ones, Art Nouveau. I really love the end result of this cart but wow there are alot of layers. Little, itty bitty layers. I made 2 of these butterflies from the cart and I love it.
I used the turkey from Celebrate with a Florish and scallop circles from Mini Monograms. I cut off about a half inch from the bottoms, cut a slit up the middle of the scallops, then fit the circle onto the turkey. I should have used heavy cardstock because the thin paper had to be taped at the back of the turkey. The pumpkin is 5 circles, scored in half, then glued together. I think I should have added a few more circles to fill it out. I was a fun, easy, and cheap way to add decorations to my table on short notice.
I also embossed the circles with adds texture. Fast and easy homemade decoration, love it.
I made the box for the "Thing" hand using my Martha Stewart score board. All the cuts are from Happy Hauntings. I needed a way to hang the Witch sign so I hot glued a soda can top to the back and it works great.
